Challenge
Visually impaired or blind children rarely have the opportunity to experience the visual world through art, let alone record and share it with the rest of society. They are often deemed incapable for producing works of art, thus any potential for creative production is severely inhibited. At the same time, society is also robbed of the opportunity to view the world through the eyes of the blind.

Solution
"Give a blind child a camera and a roll of film. Let them use their heart to record the world, and let their vision enlighten the world." This is the core belief of our team.
Our project will begin with a series of photography workshops and outings, aimed at teaching blind youth fundamental techniques of photography as well as basic camera usage. Each child will be paired up with a volunteer and equipped with a simple digital camera. They will be taught various functions and how to craft an image through touch, smell, sound, and sheer imagination.
After the workshops, these young photographers will unite with their families to share their experiences, and hopefully help their parents realize their hugely untapped potential. Each photographer will also select his/her favorite photograph to be shown at the final exhibition – an effort to show the public that the blind, too, can perceive the world in beautiful ways. Audience feedback will be reflected back to the young photographers through Braille, establishing the start of a valuable connection between them and the general public. -
