Challenge
Have you ever thought of how a handicapped person supports him or herself? Although public welfare has been a traditional means to support the handicapped in China, it is time to think of ways to replace “hand-out”s with more long-term and sustainable “hand-up”s.

Solution
Our team believes that even for the disabled, their dreams can be within their grasp. Working with a local disability home, our project begins with analyzing and leveraging each handicapped person’s capabilities, then accordingly engage them in handicrafts training and production.
To increase the public’s awareness of their abilities and skills, our team will then display the finished products through public exhibitions and other promotional material. To fund our operations as well as pay compensation to the disabled, we will also sell some of these products at charity auctions in schools and online stores. Our volunteers will also integrate services such as rehabilitation, education and counseling as needed. Overall, our team hopes to truly help the disabled achieve self-realization and value creation in society. -
